Maryland Basement Waterproofing
We offer a TRANSFERABLE LIFETIME GUARANTEE for a dry basement after our basement waterproofing! We are so confident in our basement waterproofing systems that we offer this guarantee, so if you ever need to sell your home or business, you can rest assured that an old issue of a wet basement will not affect the sale of your property, because it’s been dry for years, and there’s a written guarantee to back it up.
Damp basements can be unhealthy, resulting in stench, mildew and decreased property value. You may need basement waterproofing if your basement has one or more of the following issues:
- Basement smells damp, musty or moldy.
- Has seepage or cracks in the walls or floor
- Has efflorescence, which is a white or grayish ash on basement walls, caused by salt deposits left behind by evaporating water.
- Has spalling, which happens when water gets inside the concrete, brick or stone of the basement walls. Salt deposits from the water cause the surface to start to flake away, peel or crumble.
- Flooding in your basement after a heavy storm or snow melt.
At Bel Air Waterproofing, we strive to be Maryland’s top-quality specialists in basement waterproofing & basement repair. French Drains are a vital part of a professional basement waterproofing system. Installation of French Drains is a multi-step process that involves installing a drainage system around the entire perimeter of your basement. This process is dirty and noisy, as we have to jackhammer up the concrete floor around the perimeter to install the French Drains. We’ll seal off any doorways or stairwells to keep the mess contained to the basement. We haul away all of the debris. Once we install the French Drains and sump pumps, we pour new concrete to give you a finished floor again. Visit our French Drains page to learn more about the process.
Sump pumps take the water that has been funneled to them by the French Drains up and out of your basement. We do installation of new sump pumps as well as perform sump pump repair if needed. If you already have a full basement waterproofing system with sump pumps, we can also install backup sump pumps so you never have to worry if the power goes out.
Your sump pump or pumps serve a vital function in maintaining a dry basement. You can count on us for quality sump pump installation and repair.
We also perform various concrete services throughout the Harford County / Baltimore County area, including foundation repair, and repair of concrete flatwork and masonry. This includes sidewalks, stamped concrete patios, concrete driveways, concrete floors, concrete slabs and more.
We offer grading and excavating services to residential and commercial clients for projects such as site preparation, underground utilities, retaining walls, seeding, sodding and more. Regrading to improve drainage can be done at the same time as basement waterproofing, or separately.
We also deliver stone, fill dirt and topsoil, and haul away excess dirt and stone as needed.
Septic systems are vital to keeping your home or business running smoothly. We install and repair septic systems as well as provide septic inspections in central Maryland. We currently do not pump out septic tanks, but work with several area companies who do. If you do not wish to repair or replace your septic system, we are also licensed to hook you up to the municipal water system.
We are licensed to perform mold remediation services in Maryland, to include making structural changes such as tearing out drywall and replacing flooring once the mold has been removed and the cause (damp basement or flooding) has been taken care of. Mold remediation may need to be performed during the whole basement waterproofing process, or may be needed after burst pipes. Mold remediation may also be necessary during home remodeling, when tearing out drywall or cabinets reveals hidden water damage that has allowed mold to grow.
Once your basement is nice and dry for life with basement waterproofing, it’s time for basement remodeling to turn a damp, dank basement into additional, useable space such as a rec room, home gym, home office or something else. Basement finishing is where we’re starting from scratch, putting up drywall, creating separate rooms, etc. Basement remodeling is when you already have a finished basement, even if it’s just roughly finished, and you’re looking to do something more.
We’ll make recommendations based on your ideas for your basement, and you can rest assured that everything will be done up to or exceeding building codes.
